MAEER’s Maharashtra Institute of Pharmacy (MIP) which is now transformed into School of Pharmacy, MIT world Peace University, Pune, was established in 1997 and ranked in top 75 pharmacy institutes in India by NIRF, Govt. of India. It has also been placed into platinum category by AICTE-CII Survey.School of Pharmacy provides Bachelor of Pharmacy (B. Pharm), Master of Pharmacy (M. Pharm) in Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance,
Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences. Our B. Pharm program is accredited by National Board of accreditation (NBA) for five years.
Pharmacy is a part of the medicine field that relates the chemical science with the health sciences. Globally pharmacy field is one of the fast growing sector nowadays. Tremendous rise of various hospitals, pharmaceutical firms and pharmacovigilance companies has created numerous opportunities for the pharmacy graduates. The pharmacy field provides an excellent carrier opportunity.
“The mind is not a vessel to be filled, but a fire to be kindled”- Plutarch, with this in mind our devoted, enthusiastic, motivated and nationally and internationally recognized faculty members offer our students the opportunity to receive a excellent education by providing an exciting learning experience in teaching in a variety of ways including lectures, practical laboratory classes, hands on training, seminars, workshops, certificate courses, group discussions, problem-solving classes and tutorials.
As said by Martin Luther King Jr “Intelligence plus character that is the true goal of education” we motivate students to inculcate social and professional values, inculcate a sense of discipline and character. We have added peace studies and yoga in our curriculum to make our students physically and emotionally fit and mentally alerts. Our students are involved in the community through many volunteer efforts such as health camps, patient counselling, blood donation and health checkup.
Students are also actively involved with their faculty mentors in research projects. Students contribute to research topic selection, literature review, research design, data collection, analysis of results, understanding the mechanism of action of the drugs, presenting posters and publishing research paper in reputed journal.
I am committed to the continued quest to enhance and improve our teaching and learning and research environment, so that we can provide a learning environment for the future pharmacy professionals. The school of pharmacy recently added cell biology laboratory. This is the first of its kind in all colleges in India. For the development of industry ready professionals we have also started post graduate diploma course in Drug regulatory affairs.
School of Pharmacy MITWPU offers a life transforming experience as the academic framework follows unique WPU method of imparting education that is focused on holistic development of the students along with the academic excellence. The WPU methods of imparting higher education follows a continuously evolving learning pedagogy backed by research, collaborations, technology, field studies, projects and peace curriculum.
